This is the third most popular of Polly's photographs - as chosen by you. It polled 17% of the vote.

It was the very first picture in our now vast Gallery and was taken back during the recording of David's 'On An Island' album.

Click here to view it at a higher resolution.

Thank you all for the questions sent in for Guy. He is ploughing through them all and we'll have his answers soon. We aren't considering any others, so please don't submit any.

There's no chat today, but there will be one tomorrow from 3PM (UK time). Hope you can make it.

The chatroom for those who will be attending Guy's King's Head theatre shows is still available. Aside from the Barn, our chatroom hide-out for Blog Irregulars, you'll see a room called Theatre. That's the place you want to arrange a pre-show get-together.

In continuing with Guy's shameless hijacking of the blog, Pink Floyd's comedic genius has agreed to answer some of your questions.

Before you start gleefully bashing away on your keyboards, please don't bother sending in long lists of questions, because these will be deleted immediately. Be fair.

So that everyone gets an equal chance of getting a question answered, you're allowed to submit three questions at most, so please think carefully before sending them in.

Not all of them will be answered, of course, but they will all be published here for all to see, thereby hopefully preventing any unnecessary repetition (please, please, please check other people's questions before sending in your own).

You can expect the answers next week, along with more chats, more competitions - and yes, even more shoes.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: COMPETITION WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Our competition winners are as follows:

Tony K and Martin S
You each win a pair of tickets to see Guy's show on Monday 13 November.

Tim C and Teun Thönissen
You each win a pair of tickets to see Guy's show on Sunday 26 November.

Congratulations to you all. Please keep those dates free in your diaries and keep reading for details on how you can arrange a pre-show get-together with other blog readers.

As you know, Guy is doing four nights at Islington's <a href="http://www.kingsheadtheatre.org/"target="_blank">King's Head theatre next month. Dates are 13, 20, 26 and 27 November. Some of you have already won tickets, courtesy of Guy.

As we anticipated, it turns out to be quite a good excuse for a blog knees-up.

Tickets are just £12, so, if you'll be going on any of the above dates to get your ribs tickled, do let us know. Feel free to use this space to suggest times and places to meet before, or after, the show.

Please note that, in the interest of safety, we won't publish any e-mail addresses.

There will be a chat tomorrow from 10AM (UK time) where everyone is welcome. A separate room has been set up to help those interested in meeting before any of Guy's shows to make the necessary arrangements. This will be password-protected, so please see your e-mail for the all-important password - and keep it to yourself.

If you have purchased tickets, you can request this password and enter this private chatroom, but you will need to provide proof of purchase first. Please send these details as you would normally send your blog post. Of course, they will not be published.

Tickets are available from the King's Head theatre box office (020 7226 1916) and <a href="http://www.kingsheadtheatre.org/"target="_blank">website.

CD/DVD update

Just to update you on next month's special limited edition 'On An Island' CD, which will come with a fantastic bonus live DVD.

As well as the six songs from the AOL Sessions and 'Astronomy Domine' from Abbey Road, the DVD will also have 'Take A Breath' from London's Royal Albert Hall - a taster for David's live concert DVD, due out early next year.

The downside is that the release date for this limited edition CD/DVD combo has been pushed back to 28 November around the world. It will hopefully still be out in Europe on 20 November, as originally planned.

Packaging will be different from the original album release. In Europe, it will be contained in the original 'book' case, but with a dark red spine cloth instead of the regular black one. There will be silver foil block lettering on the back stating that it is a limited edition.

That's the EMI version.

The Sony version (for the rest of the world) will have the DVD housed in a cardboard wallet, featuring one of Polly's tour photographs. This will be shrink-wrapped to the original 'book' style CD.

Sound is PCM Stereo, not 5.1 Surround Sound.

Please be reminded that this bonus DVD has no impact upon the release of David's forthcoming concert DVD, which documents the 'On An Island' tour. That's still to come and will be available next year.

Please keep those dates free in your diaries and see the Meet-up: Islington blog entry for details on how to arrange a pre-show get-together with other blog readers.

As you may already know, bassist-cum-comedian (and regular blogger) Guy Pratt is doing four nights at Islington's <a href="http://www.kingsheadtheatre.org/"target="_blank">King's Head theatre in November.

His 'My Bass & Other Animals' stand-up shows have been a resounding success, so we're really pleased that he's added some more dates - 13, 20, 26 and 27 November, to be exact.

We have several pairs of tickets to give away, courtesy of Guy. Just let us know which night you'd like to attend, along with your full name and address, and you will be entered into the raffle to win a pair of tickets to a night of your choice.

Of course, this should be a jolly good excuse for a blog get-together, so have a think about it and we'll have a space set aside for you to make any meet-up arrangements - as we've done for all of David's concerts - towards the end of the week.

Please be assured that we won't publish any personal details.

As you may have come across an incorrect story about a certain live DVD on some of the fansites today (possibly proving that we were right to liken certain fansites to tabloids), then we hope you have seen the true story over on the Latest News page.

In short, there is to be a special edition 'On An Island' CD which comes with a bonus DVD of the six songs that made up the AOL Sessions (still available to watch online, by the way) plus 'Astronomy Domine', filmed at Abbey Road recently.

So that means live versions of 'On An Island', 'This Heaven', 'Smile', 'Take A Breath', 'High Hopes' and 'Comfortably Numb' from New York, plus 'Astronomy Domine' from London's famous recording studio.

This will be available, for a limited time, from 20 November across Europe and the following day across North America.

If it's just the live DVD that you're after, then we'll have a limited quantity available from this website from the day of release. Details to follow, so please don't ask.

By the way, we didn't win any BT Digital Music awards on Tuesday. To see who did, click here. The blog finished in third place and davidgilmour.com in 21st, which is pretty good considering our very late entry into the competition. Our thanks again to all who voted.

Don't forget, there's a chat tomorrow at 10AM (UK time) where you can discuss all of the above and more. Hope you can make it.

Thanks for voting for your favourite photographs. Voting is now complete and shown above is the fifth most popular, as chosen by you, taken by Polly in Münich's Königsplatz on 29 July (Gallery 19 #11). It polled 10% of a very close vote.

As you know, Polly took hundreds - probably thousands - of photographs whilst on tour and many of these pictures make up our Galleries section. The top four fan favourites will be revealed soon.

The results of the BT People's Choice awards are out next week. You've already given us your opinions on whether or not you thought we were right to put ourselves forward, but if you'd like to vote on whether you think we have a chance of winning the award for either Best Music Blog or Best Music Site, do let us know via our latest poll.

(You can anonymously vote "Don't care" if you were too polite to tell us that last week!)

That's all for this week. You'll have to wait until Monday for more shoes, sorry. We hope you can stand the suspense...

Those were indeed David's shoes yesterday, so well done if you guessed right and thanks for all the interesting facts.

In continuing with the theme of Polly's photographs (keep those votes coming), some of the fans who were at Abbey Road at the end of August noticed that Polly appeared to be photographing the feet of the band members during the recording - on screens across the UK in December, don't forget.

Purely for the hell of it, here are those photos.

Can you guess which shoes belong to which band member?

An easy one to start you off...

To make the obvious repetition a little less dull, tell us just one interesting thing which other readers might not know about this person, if you can.

Lastly, many thanks for being so supportive of the blog and, indeed, David's website as a whole. We very much appreciate your kind words and, of course, your votes. A great big "Thank you!" to you all.

Robert Wyatt

We've been dedicating a blog entry to each of the musicians and main players in David's touring party, and today it's the turn of Robert Wyatt, founder member of Soft Machine.

Fans of David should be particularly grateful to Robert, for as curator of the 2001 Meltdown music festival, he coaxed David into performing at London’s Royal Festival Hall. The success of that critically-acclaimed semi-acoustic show spawned similar concerts in both London and Paris the following year. The tremendous success of these shows surely played a part in the 'On An Island' tour.

So please feel free to leave a message for Robert if you'd like to, or perhaps tell others a little about Robert's music if you've followed his career or seen him in concert.

Thanks to everyone who told us which of Polly's photos are their favourites. You can vote on which you like best of all, from a shortlist of ten, with our latest poll (coming later today).

Thanks also to all who popped into the chatroom this morning. It was really nice chatting with you.

The next chat will be tomorrow at 3PM UK time.

Please see the calendar for chatroom opening times.
