His music may not be to everyone's liking, but surely no one in their right mind can dispute his phenomenal, unrivalled (and consistent) talent as a writer. Lyrics are only words, after all, and songs tell a story or convey message... If anyone does that better than Bob Dylan, then I'd love to hear about them. He is a poet. Isn't poetry classed as 'literature' these days? It was when I was at school. Is there not literary value in 'A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall', 'It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)', 'My Back Pages', 'Chimes Of Freedom' (or several dozen other songs that actually mean something in this shallow world)? Busy here- I'm doing the lighting design for my school's annual fireworks, there's just so much health and safety rubbish to think about. my number would be 1984, as it had been the first time I´ve seen David solo live in Düsseldorf on his About Face tour, after Roger Waters tried to destroy Pink Floyd, thankfully without any success.

But given the fact, that it took until 2006 for the next album and solo tour of David, I´m choosing 1984 with the hope that David won´t dare to let us fans wait so long again for his next tour and album.
